Dear Customers,
after long time of development our team finally released Version 3.0 of our high quality video communication and webconferencing tool comfidence ro groups with up to 10 participants.
Where are the differences to former version of Comfidence?
First of all the look&feel of Comfidence was completely refactored. Comfidence 1.0 and 2.0 followed a very restricted and controlled user interface approach based on standard windows user interface controls offering lots of sub windows, fine tuning options and other information that was not very helpful for most sporadic users.
Comfidence Version 3.0 is now following the idea of a maximum degree of freedom when it comes to window positioning and window layouting as well as reducing the number of fine tuning options to a minimum to increase the overall usability of the application.
Freedom for all Windows
You are now free to decouple all windows from the main user interface and place them e.g. on the desktop of a second monitor if you like. Even their position in the main window might be changed to your specific preferences. To prevent from rearranging the windows each time wen logging into Comfidence it is now possible to save whole layout configurations and restore them with just one click in the layout manager.
Since the new layout manager also support muli monitor setups it is now possible to e.g. put participant videos on one monitor and keeping a desktop sharing on a second monitor.
More Quality Less Complexity
Besides numerous small changes it is now obvious that lots of fine tuning options are no longer available in Comfidence. Don’t fear that comfidence has now less functionality than before - due to lots of automation efforts we had been able to simply replace the manual options by logical algorithms that work automatically in the background.
Our new philosophy: “Less is More”
- no bells and whistles
- functionality the user often uses is always directly accessible
- Options a user is not able to use in the current situation are hidden
- Utilitzation of flat menu structures
- minimzation of click events wherever possible
Result of these efforts is an application that was more than just accepted by all current users of Version 2.
Especially the fact that even sporadic users learn using Comfidence during the first usage now shows us that the new user interface concept was exactly the right way to go!
The next post will tell you what changed UNDER the hood of Comfidence 3.0 because user interface changes alone do not make a new application!
